Dixon’s No Newcomer To Butler County

I am often asked why I like serving Butler County.  And, who I am.

I guess there are many reasons I like serving.

No, make that “love” serving.

The very best reason I can give you is pretty simple:  I was born and raised here, and this has always been my home.   It was home to my father and his father and so on.  And Butler County has been good to me, my family, and probably to you and your family.  We have been blessed, for sure.

The Dixon Family is a pretty big group, and their stories are pretty much the same as mine.   Born here.  Raised here.  Played here.  Worked here.  Educated here.   Woke up most days in this county and went to work.  Work in the Dixon Family meant that you first had to learn the real truths of working.  Honesty.  Integrity. Caring.

We were taught a set of values that focus on how you treat other people.  How you work with others as a team.  How to take responsibility for your own actions.  How to play well.  How to work hard.  How to put the interests of other people above your own.

And we learned the values that are crucial to success in your walk through life.  We were taught that you can’t spend money that you don’t have, and taught not to spend other people’s money foolishly.  Most importantly, I learned that government exists to serve you.  Not the other way around.

During my long record of serving the people of my county, I have tried my very best to be accessible and responsive to the people I serve.  You are not just voters.  You are my friends and neighbors, and my record clearly shows that I always tried my very best to put you first.

I have treated your money like I treat my own.  And I always try to focus on consistent leadership that drives a successful county.

So you ask “Who is Don Dixon?”

I am one of you.

For the Love of Butler County,
